My Internal Internet Renaissance

I read an article today about the evils of social media, specifically Facebook. The typical accusations involving envy, jealousy and feelings of inadequacy while viewing others profile. Although the original intent of Facebook was a social site, it has evolved into a vital place to acquire knowledge. The shit I have learned and my understanding of life in general in the last 5 years has improved exponentially mainly through Facebook. This includes my time in college, which is amazing and unexpected result of using Facebook. I am rare I know, in fact in general after college most people stop learning and have no interest in acquiring new knowledge. So this method of using FB will not work for them. If you are hungry for knowledge and open minded you can find life changing posts regularly if you follow the advice into turning your FB page into a repository of knowledge that has the potential of changing your life for the better every-time you open it. Sounds too good to be true? I will first write down everything I learn when i open FB for the next & days and write them down here. I will then show you how to transform your FB page(or how I did it).
Here is my basic law for "liking" pages or people. For people it is family, clients, HS friends(business networking) and friends or people I have seen post worthy items or have knowledge or experience in a topic I am interested in, the "following" button lets me choose what appears on my page without unfriending anyone.
The following 7 days I will post the first 5 feeds on my page and two or three gems of knowledge or information that I find everyday. Sometimes art or entertainment may pop up, but if they are inspirational it is a positive for the day. Here we go:

June 8, 2016
First 5 feeds:
1- police beating mentally ill man on ground in Salinas, which will probably never reach the tv news, provided by FB friend who I never met, friended over video of Baja I saw him in, turns out our politcal and worldviews are similiar, so I still follow.

2-John Oliver drinking a Bud Light Lime after FIFA head resigns, after the episode the previous week surely played a part in his resignation. That show along with social media helped bring down rampant and blatant corruption by one of the most powerful organizations in the world, hope!

3 and 4- both posts from my client who is competing in high jump this weekend. The first says he is at track first thing in morning( good info for me) and the 2nd is about Olympic high jumper accused of doping. I inferred he was juicing months back because his numbers were ridiculous.  I commented, " Told you. The testing and looking at his past wont prove anything. Any decent biochemist can get around ANY doping test. A famous one said if you get caught, your working with the wrong guy. Watch his numbers drop now"

5 Talks about a site where famous paintings are being altered to remove all gluten products. Where I read the awesome comment " These are the people who think the air and space museum is an empty building." A joke I will surely use in the future.

1st 5 summary- 10 out of 10 Great first day of this experiment. I intend to give 2 points for every post that is beneficial in some way to any facet of my life. 1 is common theme on my page because I lean towards libertarianism and personal freedom. I give it two points because so far I have heard no mention on regular media, so breaking a story will be worth 2(making this up as I go). The John Oliver post definitely gets 2 points, would give it a 4 if I could. This post is a celebration of truth over evil, John brought us the truth, I and many others shared the piece and two days later Blatt resigns. This is what this shit is all about, social media to make change for the good of all. This piece was destiny I guess. 3 and 4 both get a two. In three I get insight into my clients mindset as he goes to train while most are sleeping and 4 I get validated in a professional assessment of another athlete(allegedly, hehe). 5. Although the knowledge of gluten free art museum does not really improve my life in any way, I get a joke that I will use in the future, which is always worth something. Many gems can be found in the comments section.
1st day random test an amazing success.
