Happy New Year! What a year it has been for me, best one ever! I have been meaning to write a book on fitness for many years now. There is a huge fundamental flaw in in health and fitness in general and I want to expose it and explain all the way to the cellular level what's going on. So in 2013 I set out on a quest for knowledge. The goal was to explain why my program was so far ahead of 99.99% of programs out there. I figured I would go back and relearn physiology and anatomy for a month or two and finish the book the same year.
The more I started learning, the more I knew I had to learn and the more I knew that modern medicine is in it's infantile stages. We don't have a clue what is going with our bodies or how to use them. There have have been great strides in the field of quantum physics and when applied to physiology and biology, we can actually learn to "hack" our bodies to get amazing results that will change your life.
The biohacking is basically getting back to nature and using our bodies automatic responses to the environment to our advantage. I have been doing this almost two decades. I have been conditioned, to always defer to the medical experts or PHds. One is they should know a lot more than the average trainer what is going on with the client and two was to avoid any lawsuit in case complications occur. I am now at the point where truth and results are priority, so I might offend some of you and most likely all of your doctor's. I have found that most are incompetent and just regurgitate the same protocols they were taught in Med school, science class or whatever expert opinion is at the time. The Personal training certificates that are required by most gyms are woefully inadequate, the stuff I was required to learn in '97 is not just obsolete now, but dangerous. You can bet that 20 years from now it will be no different. Why? Fitness is a science that flows from medical science which flows from biological science. The problem is medicine is there to treat problems that derive from not paying attention to biology. They deal with sick bodies, when the true focus should be maximizing the performance of healthy bodies.
It is 3 years later, I am now taking upper division molecular biology and starting physics and calculus to fine tune the program. If I wait until all the research has been compiled then the book will never be finished. At the same time putting it out now hardcopy is pointless also, as the next big discovery might be an integral part to health. Fortunately I have compiled a list that only accounts proven methods, whether through studies or empirical evidence, that if applied to yourself should yield immediate results. Other activities I will recommend but have not tried yet but plan to in the future as the research looks promising. Please give me any feedback on what works for you or doesn't work, we are all learning together here. Some of the stuff I am going to prescribe seems crazy and looks crazy but in the end it works and there is research to prove it, which I have provided. LETS DO THIS!!
Two terms every human needs to know for optimal health one is the SNC and other is leptin levels. We all have heard of insulin and cholesterol and their ties to diabetes and CVD. There is a correlation between these, but you will not get better or remain healthy, trying to control these numbers. In a lot of cases, the treatments for these is exacerbating the problem.
Let's take look at leptin:
We have all heard of insulin, testosterone, thyroid hormones, estrogen and dopamine etc.. Problems with these hormones are treated directly, usually by ingesting whichever hormone is deficient. A classic case of treating the symptoms and not the cause. If you have low test, they give you test, if you have low thyroid levels they give you a thyroid hormone. There is one master hormone that controls all other hormones, making it as important as all of the others combined. Leptin
Leptin is released from fat cells to the brain and hypothalamus gland, which controls the brain functions and activities. Our energy level is what we are concerned with at the moment and leptin controls all energy levels in the body. If you are really fat or really skinny you are leptin resistant. Fat burning and tissue building require vast amounts of energy. So anything the body does that requires vast amounts of energy will be compromised (pregnancy, bone and tissue repair, growth) If the brain is not receiving the leptin signal you will produce an excess a condition known as leptin resistance. Vitamin D levels are associated with leptin resistance so low levels are a strong hint you are leptin resistant.
3 prevalent conditions today diabetes, HBP and osteoporosis are diagnosed when you become insulin resistant or when scans show bone loss. By then it's already too late, you officially "have" these conditions.
There is hope for the future of medicine!
-Leptin resistance always predates osteoporosis-
-Chronically high leptin levels predate HBP-
-High leptin interferes with immune response from hypothalumus
-Chronically high leptin levels predate diabetes type II by 5-7 years! It takes this long for leptin to destroy the insulin making cells in the pancreas
"... this is going to change in biology, because the truth always finds a way in science. You and I cant afford to wait for scientists, researchers, the government, corporations, or healthcare to get this message. Time is not promised and waits for no one, especially for the cells in your body right now." - DR. Jack Kruse
"Illnesses do not come to us out of the blue, they are developed from small daily sins against nature." -Hippocrates
Make these 1st three activities a part of your morning routine, no excuses, it I would advise having a physical and full bloodwork done to show your doctor and any skeptics tangible proof.
-2 glasses water (warm /alkaline) ASAP Before anything, drink 16 oz minimum of water. Warm is best. Besides the big 2 crucial processes it fires up, digestion and circulation, anti-wrinkle/aging, metabolism and add lemon for extra fat utilization. Such an easy and quick daily task that will increase your quality of life and lifespan, to not do this after knowing the benefits is irresponsible.
What to expect- regularity, better digestion, better skin texture, more energy
Morning sun harvesting- get out and expose as much skin as possible to morning sunlight, while barefooted- if its cold out even better!
mitochondria are the energy producers of cells. Sunlight has been proven to increase the signaling processes of mitochondria and the nervous system in general. The more the better, so naked would be best, but shirtless with sports bra will suffice. From personal experience 5-20 minutes does the job.
BONUS: look at sun with eyes closed, 1-3 minutes while out there, you will see a increase in vision clarity and flowers and fruits tend to stand out more.
Epidural optgenics- the use of light as a analgesic
What to expect:
Increase in energy, do in place of coffee or nap. The effects are immediate.
There are free electrons flowing throughout the atmosphere.
Be cold!
Have you seen anyone from a cold climate come to San Diego in the winter? They are easy to spot, usually sporting shorts and tank tops while locals are bundled up. You have probably heard of acclimatization before but do you know what is going on within the cells? You see nature has a way of providing mitochondrial benefits to those who do not access to regular sunlight. The cold weather actually trains the mitochondria to become more efficient heat generators. Efficient mitochondria are essential for energy production and fat burning. Think of the goosebumps you get as a mitochondrial workout. When the cols no longer bothers you, you have become san efficient fat burning msachuine! Now imagine practicing this with sunlight harvesting at the same time?! Turn off the heaters in the winter and when it gets warmer cold showers or even ice baths.
What to expect- when combined with moderate exercise program and diet stubborn areas are a lot easier to reduce. I have used these techniques to help me get back to a size 34 waist, havent seen that since I was 17! 48 this year and will probably have a 6 pack for the first time ever, believe me I have tried everything except starvation.

-fats for breakfast and all day-HPT axis!
The FDA made a huge mistake interpreting studies on heart disease and have made a whole generation scared to consume fats, This directly led to the massive increase in type ii diabetes.
The glands control the body, hypothalumus-pituitary-thyroid axis is a cascade that starts at the top. These glands require saturated fat to function optimally. The body requires fat to burn fat, Lard, butter, coconut oil and seafood are great choices, yes lard is back. other important bodily functions rely on saturated fat.
- it has been shown that dieters who eat a higher percentage of saturated fat lose more fat than those who eat lesser percentage.
-saturated fat actually reduces lipoproteins (ldl's and hdl's)
-To get calcium incorporated into bone saturated fat is required. In fact it is so important, some doctors advise up to 50% of calories come from them for those patients with osteoporosis. Combine with heavy resistance training for best effect.
-liver health is crucial for proper metabolism. If you always dehydrated, take acetaminophen, similar products, prescriptions or drink alcohol, then your liver is getting shredded on the cellular level. How to protect it? Saturated fats
-breathing! Every airspace of the lungs are coated with a thin layer of surficant which assures that they function efficiently. This layer is 100% saturated fat. People who have eliminated saturated fat from their diets replace this with different kinds of fat, which have proven to be faulty.
-the brain is pretty much a mass of fat and cholesterol. New cells are being generated everyday, not supplying the raw materials is not a wise way to go.
-proper nerve signaling is important for metabolism, immune response and cognitive ability among other functions like insulin release. Saturated fats function as direct signal messengers
-immune sytem: loss of fatty acids in white blood cells hampers it's ability to locate and eradicate foriegn invaderslike viruses, bacteria and fungi.
-The preferred fuel for your heart, and also used as a source of fuel during energy expenditure
-Useful antiviral agents (caprylic acid)
-Effective as an anticaries, antiplaque and anti-fungal agent (lauric acid)
-Useful to actually lower cholesterol levels (palmitic and stearic acids)

QUOTES mitochondria :
Wallace believes that the bioenergetics of mitochondrial function is the overlooked piece in understanding everything from psychiatric and neurologic diseases to aging, partly a result of the current “anatomical paradigm” in the scientific community, which focuses mostly on nuclear DNA, anatomy, and neurology. “What’s missed is the realization that mitochondria is much more important than just making ATP," he says. "It has a central regulatory role, because nothing in your body can go forward without energy. Mitochondria is the missing link between human behavior and human physiology.”
For example, he points out that neurons are “extraordinarily energetically demanding,” and that certain diseases could actually be a mitochondria disease. “All the tissues affected in common diseases also have the highest mitochondria energy demand, and it’s hard to see any anatomical difference between a normal and affected patient, because you can’t see energy,” he says. Wallace makes the case that aging could be chalked up to being “fundamentally the decline of the mitochondria’s ability to produce the energy to power the cells to keep us at optimum health.”
